There will be prizes for the best costumes at Lowell’s 60th annual Labor Day Kiddie Parade Sunday, Sept. 1. The parade starts at 1 p.m. and runs from Old Towne Square, west on Commercial Avenue to Harding Drive to the Festival Grounds at the old Rieter Automotive Property, 101 W. Oakley Ave.
The Lowell Labor Day Parade began in 1919 when it was organized by the American Legion as a welcome home for World War I veterans, Lowell Town Administrator Susan Peterson said. This year marks the 94th annual parade.
