Parents are registering children for the new school year and college students are packing up to head to campuses across the country.

CROWN POINT | Teens interested in volunteering for the 2012-2013 school year can pick up an application at the Crown Point or Winfield Branch Library. Teens must be going into the 7th grade or above and commit to working one day a week from 3:00 - 5:00 during the school year.
"Own The Night," the Crown Point Community Library's summer reading program, is seeking teen volunteers entering seventh grade and older to assist at both the Crown Point, 214 S. Court St., and Winfield, 10645 Randolph St., locations.
Students in grades 4 to 6 who enjoy reading and making new friends are welcome to join the Crown Point Community Library's Young Reader Book Club. The group will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the library, 214 S. Court St.
Crown Point Community Library and its Winfield branch are currently accepting applications for teen volunteers.
