Officials at a turnaround company hired to improve academics at Gary Roosevelt College and Career Academy hope to receive a school improvement grant to continue operating the school.
GARY | It's been two months since school started and an outside management company began operating Gary Roosevelt, facing several challenges including student behavior, special education, and teaching and learning.
The state took a radical step when it decided to take over seven schools, including Gary's Roosevelt Technical and Career Academy, and turn them over to management companies to operate them as turnaround school operators.
It is an embarrassment that EdisonLearning has had to resort to legal action to force Gary school officials to do what they should have been doing all along — cooperate with the company at Roosevelt College and Career Academy for the sake of the children there.
