Trick Or Treating
Below is a list of the trick-or-treat hours from towns around the region. Crown Point, Portage, Winfield, Crete, Steger and LaPorte have postponed trick-or-treating hours to Friday night because of inclement weather.

CHESTERTON | Downtown businesses will be offering trick or treating for Duneland families again this year on Friday, October 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. Parents and their children should look for orange flyers in the windows of participating businesses in Chesterton and Porter.

Lake County communities have set the following hours for trick-or-treating on Monday.
This year's Hobart Kiwanis Food Drive was the most successful ever, with many groups of youngsters helping pick up 2,300 bags donated and placed on family porches. Among the helpers were the Hobart Middle School Builders Club, Key Club, JROTC and the Brickie boys basketball team.
MERRILLVILLE | Children younger than 6 years old can trick or treat from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Town Hall, 7820 Broadway.
At the end of April, Schererville and its Park Board hosted the Pennsy Greenway Trail groundbreaking. Just six months later, almost everyone present that day watched Oct. 15 as Town Council President Hal Slager cut the yellow ribbon and officially opened the bike trail.
