The third coldest and snowiest winter in Chicago history has clearly overstayed its welcome, but there is some good news coming from the miserable season.
GREEN BAY, Wis. | Water levels on the Great Lakes are so low shippers are being forced to leave as much as 15 percent of their cargo behind, said industry experts who are working to find ways to alleviate the problem.
While a warm, dry winter may be more tolerable for Lake Michigan-area residents, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is warning it could send lake water levels plunging to record lows.
