Winter Storm Warning
Winter storm to bring season's first snowfall this afternoon
The latest first snowfall of the season in Chicago-area history is set to fall this afternoon with the arrival of a winter storm that forecasters say could cause blizzard-like conditions near the Lake Michigan shoreline in Lake and Porter counties.
Winter settles in: Below-zero temperatures on way, more snow on tap
The region's first snowfall of the season is expected to dial down by the end of Friday, bringing lower temperatures, forceful winds and a chance of more snow Saturday, forecasters predict.
Snowfall on edge of breaking record
Up to 5 inches of snow were expected by this morning in the Chicago area and Northwest Indiana, with 6 inches or more forecast for areas to the south.
