It's been two weeks since we lost to Old Dominion in the NCAA tournament in New Orleans. It is so surreal how quickly it all can end. One minute we were playing, and the next, it's over.
It's been a wild last couple of weeks for me and my teammates, but my senior year has ended exactly as I wanted -- with a berth in the NCAA tournament.
It's been a long couple weeks for me as I am still sidelined with my bone bruise. I'm feeling better each day, but just unsure of when I am going to return. It's tough sitting on the bench and not being in there playing, but I have been so proud of the way my teammates have played the last t…
It's been a tough few days for me. As many of you know, I was injured in the second half of last Thursday's Seton Hall game. I suffered a deep bone bruise on my right knee. It happened when our team was making a run into the second half against the Pirates. After I was injured, I tried to go…
It's been a tough week for us on the basketball court as we lost a couple games, but we return to action on Thursday night against Cincinnati looking for a little bit of revenge and to snap our two-game losing streak.
It has been a tough couple of days for my teammates and me after two tough losses to Cincinnati (60-58) and Syracuse (84-71).
Happy New Year, everyone.
First off, let me start by giving a big "thank you" to the students from my former grade school, St. Michael School, for coming out to the UCLA game last Saturday and cheering us on to victory.
Our team continues to get better each week. After losing to Northwestern in the semifinals of the Chicago Invitational Challenge, we have rebounded to win three straight. A lot of guys continue to adjust to their new roles on the team. I am proud of my teammates, but we know that there is st…
We're off to a 5-0 start (after Tuesday's 80-62 win over Kennesaw State), and in the last week, we have really learned a lot about our team. I really like how we have come out ready to play in our first four games; we've come out with a lot of intensity and have been ready to play.
Well, it's hard to believe, my senior year is here. Where have the last three years gone? Seems like only yesterday, I was heading to Notre Dame to start my freshman year back in June of 2006.
Coach (Mike) Brey gave us a couple days off after our win over New Mexico on Thursday night. What a wild finish to the end of that one! Tory Jackson took the ball the length of the court and scored the game-winning basket to give us the 70-68 victory and move us into the third round of the NIT.
It's amazing what a couple wins can do for a team's confidence.
We had a disappointing end to our season when we lost to Washington State in the second round of the NCAA tournament at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
It's been an unbelievable last few days for my family and me. As you know, I was named Big East Player of the Year and received my award on Tuesday night in an awards ceremony on Tuesday night. I was very humbled by receiving such a great honor. It still hasn't sunk in that the Big East coac…
LUKE HARANGODY DIARY
We just returned late Tuesday night following three days in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, at the Paradise Jam Tournament.
LUKE HARANGODY DIARY
This will be my last diary for the year.
Our season came to a disappointing end on Friday in Spokane, Wash. as we lost to Winthrop 74-64 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
We finished up our regular season this weekend against Rutgers with a big road win, 73-66, and are now headed to New York City for the Big East tournament. We are going into the tournament with a lot of momentum following five straight wins. Since our one-point loss to DePaul (67-66), we've …
It was a long week for me, the entire team and our coaches, but one that ended happily for us after a very important win over Providence (81-78) on Thursday night that helped us end a two-game losing streak.
We're a little more than halfway through a very grueling Big East regular season and we are 6-4 in the league and 18-5 overall.
Classes for the spring semester started back up again at Notre Dame last Tuesday. This semester I am taking philosophy, Calculus II, freshman year composition, African history and modern jazz. I don't have much homework do this week, just a couple reading assignments, but I don't expect that…
LUKE HARANGODY DIARY
After an exciting week of beating two ranked teams in Alabama and Maryland, I had to get mind off basketball and on the books. Finals week was grueling studying for finals. It was my first experience with juggling such a hard week of academics and basketball. Luckily, Coach Brey gave us a co…
In my last entry, I wrote about having a tough two-game stretch with two ranked opponents.
Recently, we faced our first road challenge against Butler at Conseco Fieldhouse. It was an exciting game, but we came out losing by two (71-69). It was a tough loss for all of us on the team because we knew we did not play up to our full potential. It also took us of contention to play in N…
Well, the college basketball season has finally arrived and I couldn't be more excited.
