John Arama, of Valparaiso, was riding this motorcycle on the Borman Expressway early Monday when he fell off, causing a chain-reaction crash that led to his death, Indiana State Police say.

A Ford Taurus started on fire early early Monday after swerving to avoid a motorcycle and hitting a semitrailer, police said. The driver of the Taurus and her daughter escaped the car before fire engulfed it. The motorcyclist was killed in a separate crash.
