VALPARAISO | Homer Drew officially announced his retirement as Valparaiso men's basketball coach at a news conference Tuesday morning.

Associate head coach Bryce Drew has been named the 21st coach in the program's history and will take over the Crusaders immediately.

Homer Drew will take a new role with Valparaiso as Associate Athletic Director.

"This is my second time at retiring, so you'd think I'd be a little better at this," Drew joked when he took the podium. "This is bittersweet. I'll miss our players, but I'm excited for the challenge of the future."
