Who’s Back: Senior guard Vincent Parker, junior guard Alphonse Futch, sophomore forward David Kelly and sophomore guard Nick Lafty (Hobart) form the nucleus of returners for a Panther squad that finished 5-25 last season and 4-10 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Who’s New: Jim Black adds four freshmen, including Matthew Brown from Hobart and Cwon Terrell from Merrillville, in his first year on the Panther bench. The roster also has five new non-freshman, including Aaron Ciesielski from Portage and Kewon Ollie from Merrillville.

Outlook: With a mix of upperclassmen and underclassmen, the key will be how well and how quickly Black and his new players mesh together. The Panthers return a solid nucleus of veterans and the ability to go 10 or 11-deep on the roster will be key. In Black’s first season, PNC should improve upon both win totals from last season, getting at least seven in a more difficult CCAC and getting at least 10 overall victories. !~ Andrew Stem
