Scouting the 2009-10 Purdue North Central men's basketball team

Who's back: The Panthers return five players from last season, including two of their top three scorers in senior Jean-Francois Ndomb (13.6 ppg) and junior D.J. Green (12.1 ppg) Seniors Ronald Nanda and Ryan Chambers both started more than 10 games last season while sophomore Sean McMullen was third on the team with seven blocked shots while averaging 11.1 minutes per contest.

Who's new: Seven players join the PNC roster this season, with four coming from the junior college ranks while three are true freshmen. Portage's D.J. Anderson adds some much needed sized to the roster while standing at 6-foot-6. LaCrosse's Travis Zippel is expected to earn playing time with his athleticism and ability to jump out of the gym.

Outlook: After playing the last seven seasons at Marquette High School in Michigan City, the Panthers finally have a home of their own at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium. Third-year coach Kris Schantz is just 9-53 in his first two seasons, but with a retooled roster and a gym to call home, the Panthers are hoping to reach double digit wins this season. -- Paul Oren
