Notre Dame senior Luke Harangody checked his schedule and found the only open weekend to go back to high school.
So it was just a coincidence that Harangody broke Irish records this week before he is honored at Andrean High School before the start of Saturday's boys basketball game against Lew Wallace.
"We wanted to do something to honor what he has done since leaving school," Andrean athletic director Tim Crnkovich said. "His sophomore breakout season could have been the face of college basketball that year."
At 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, the school plans to present Harangody with his No. 40 59ers jersey framed as part of "Luke Harangody Recognition Night".
