I'm so excited to chat with you marvelous people again.

Practice started a couple weeks ago, and we are getting better every single practice. I would be stupid if I didn't say so, but I am thrilled that games are starting. You don't just come to college to participate in practices. It's the "March Madness" craziness you are eyeing all season.

I have said this in the past seasons, but I must be brutally honest again. We are ranked No. 1, and we have everything that it takes to win the NCAA championship. With last year's experience going to the Final Four, I have witnessed first-hand what we need to do and how we need to be the team that will get us there. All of the returning players know how bad it feels to lose the way we did, and I know all of us will do all that is in our power to not let it end that way.

It's weird to know that I am senior, basketball-wise. This is my last shot to be a part of this team and my last chance to win. I will be here for another school year to finish up my degree. I have time to wait and worry about what I will do once I graduate, but I have a sense of urgency to get things done here on the basketball end. I just can't believe four years have flown by so far. It seems that every minute of every day gets faster and faster.

Mommikins -- another name for my mom -- says it only gets faster. I remember walking in as a freshman thinking that the days were so slow, I would have countdown calendars. I am learning to appreciate time.

This is the first season that I haven't experienced fatigue during practice. Don't get me wrong, practices are hard. I owe my great condition to my summer habits of biking daily to the beach, playing beach volleyball all day, then riding my bike all the way back. There were some days when my own personal taxi service -- Zach Hall -- would escort me back to my house. I would follow that by working out in the sun with a lovely strenuous lift. Oh how I miss it all, but I think that is why I am in such great shape. I can officially now say that I love to go to practice.

School is going great. I am in advanced photography, digital photography, digital media and the history of photography.

Well I have to edit some photos and actually sleep ... so it is great to say hello again. Miss you guys!

God Bless

Cassie Kerns
