About Paul Trembacki
Paul Trembacki grew up in Burnham and then Dyer. A 1998 graduate of Andrean High School and December 2001 graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, he began writing for The Times as a correspondent in 2000.
A member of Phi Beta Kappa national honor society, he became a full-time member of the staff in October 2005 and was named assistant sports editor in October 2006.
In middle school and high school, he delivered The Times on a route that consisted of approximately 60 houses. In high school he was the sports editor of The Acropolis as a junior and then in 1997, as a member of the state runner-up Andrean football team, he wrote a week-long series of diary entries for an insider's perspective on the road to the RCA Dome. The series appeared in The Times.
He has chronicled every high school sport that The Times covers and been to nearly every high school, including each one in Illinois. He has covered the Indiana state finals in football, girls basketball, boys and girls golf, boys and girls swimming, boys and girls track, softball and wrestling, as well as the Illinois state finals for volleyball and water polo.
He has covered the NFC championship game, the MLB playoffs and numerous NCAA men's and women's basketball postseason events, as well as the Rose Bowl, Sun Bowl and Outback Bowl in football.
