So can you believe the regular season has flew by this quickly? Did you have fun watching great region football on Friday night?

Now it is finished. The winner-stays-on part of the season begins now and yours truly wants to give you insight into who is going to win when the 41st IHSAA state tournament kicks off next Friday.

I'm looking in my crystal ball to see the future. Wait. That's a mirror. (I still love that joke). But here is what Bronko Nostradamus predicts.

Class 6A

Sectional 1: Merrillville got the best draw for this new class. The Bucs will get to the final. Crown Point and Lake Central is a classic. I'll take the Indians in a close one with the Bucs getting the trophy. It ends quickly, though. Penn will win the regional and the state.

Class 5A

Sectional 9: Munster gets a bye in the opening week and the Mustangs can rest up and get healthy. This is there's to win and they will get it done. Leroy Marsh's team will get to the semistate, then fall to Fort Wayne Snider. Cathedral, though, will win it again. The Irish will then get bumped to 8A.

Class 4A

Sectional 17: This is a two-horse race, Morton and Lowell. Both have very tough openers, but like Merrillville in 6A, you go with the king until dethroned. As great as the Red Devils have been, I'll stick with the Govs. A little more experience and their running back will be in the backfield.

Sectional 18: Both Kankakee Valley and Hobart have tough opening draws. That will do them in. Surely many region fans will pull for Russ Radtke's New Prairie team. But South Bend St. Joe's will prevail. Morton will get to the semistate.

In the end, though, Evansville Reitz will win another state title. Deja vu all over again.

Class 3A

Sectional 25: Drum roll, please. We now get to a tourney where the area has a chance to get to Lucas Oil Stadium for the first time since 2009. Top-ranked Andrean is locked and loaded. The 'Niners will run the field and get back to Indy. They'll beat Gibson Southern on the million dollar turf.

There'll be a parade down Broadway and coach Phil Mason will be on a float with Santa. Red and gold candy canes for everybody!

Class 2A

Sectional 33: And keep those drum sticks dancing, folks. Here is another class where the area -- no, not 'Da Region' -- will get another team south. Rensselaer finally will get to Indianapolis, making extra points and beating Lafayette Central Catholic in the semistate.

The Bombers, though, will fall to Evansville Mater Dei in the state final, but there will be a parade on Grace Street and Chris Meeks will be Santa, throwing love to the happy throng of Bomber Nation.

Class A

Sectional 41: The Whiting Oilers did not get a great draw. A tough LaVille team followed by Winamac and West Central. Plus, with quarterback AJ Veloz's health in question, this is a tough one. I'll stick with West Central until dethroned.

Linton-Stockton will win it all in late November. That's how I see it. That's how it is.

Now, if I didn't pick your team to win remember this. I have been wrong before. Back in '47 I picked Hammond Tech to win the mythical state title.
