Need tickets for tonight's Bears-Packers game?

Have we got a deal for you -- free admission.

You can thank Tina St.Aubin, executive director of Valparaiso Community Festivals and Events for "The Great Downtown Tailgate" at Central Park Plaza -- located at Lafayette and Lincolnway, a block west of the courthouse.

Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is at 7:40.

The game will be shown on a giant 16 x 9-foot screen on an amphitheater stage, complete with professional sound system.

"Last year, we did a college game -- Notre Dame and Miami at Soldier Field and drew almost 200 people," Tina said. "We have the whole football theme going during the event (tonight).

"People can certainly bring their own coolers, chairs and tables. No grills, though. And no tents."

Also participating will be the Valparaiso High School cheerleaders, Pop Warner Football and The VHS Quarterback Club.

Hot dogs, baked goods, pizza, coffee, hot chocolate, pop and bottled water will be sold.

Tina's invaluable assistants in this latest venture are Jennifer Peek and Lori Good.

"We're hoping for good weather, as long as it doesn't rain," Tina said. "We're used to the cold in Valparaiso."
