TUESDAY'S ROUNDUP: Top-ranked 'Stangs pound Panthers
Fresh off supplanting Merrillville as the No. 1 team in the state, Munster completely dominated Northwest Crossroads Conference foe Griffith 89-40 while improving its undefeated record to 16-0 (5-0 in NCC).
Joe Crisman had a game-high 24 points, and Nate Bubash added 14 for the Times No. 1 Mustangs.
Calvin Bonewits and Danny Miller each scored 10 for the Panthers (2-13, 1-4).
Bishop Noll 62, Highland 52: Keith Mahler's monster game of 28 points and 10 rebounds wasn't enough for Highland (7-10) to take out the Times No. 3 and still undefeated Warriors (16-0), who were led by Adonis Filer's 18 points and 12 points each by Ronnye Beamon and Larry Crisler.
Noll led 27-17 in the second quarter, but Highland scored five straight to make it 27-22 at the half.
A 3-point shot by Mahler made it 37-34 with 3:46 left in the third, but Highland would get no closer.
Gavit 83, Morton 61: The Gladiators avenged a double-overtime loss to the Governors on Jan. 3 while winning their first Great Lakes Conference game of the season.
