Neighborhood rivalry renewed: St. Francis de Sales and Washington will meet in the 2011 football season opener.
The two schools are located about 12 blocks apart on Chicago's East Side.
However, the game will be played in Indiana at Clark High School in Hammond. Clark is St. Francis de Sales' home field.
"We are happy to play a neighborhood rival and we think it will be a good series," Washington coach Jimmy Smith said. "We are looking forward to a good game and (St. Francis) Coach (Martin) Quiroga has done a nice job with their program."
St. Francis de Sales brought back varsity football in 2010 after a two-year absence.
