There are big changes under way at Bishop Noll Institute, structurally and individually, both inside the building and out.
The latest was Friday's announcement naming Miller resident Marianne Galfano as the new athletic director.
She replaces Ed Hreha, who was named the school's facilities manager and associate athletic director.
"Oh, wow. It's really exciting. Sometimes, I take a moment to step outside myself and think how fortunate I am," said Galfano, a Pennsylvania native. "The opportunity to work with talented people, kids and sports is the dream job."
Noll Principal Colleen McCoy-Cejka said in a statement: "The interview process for this position was grueling with so many qualified candidates. However, the search committee and I definitely feel blessed to have found Mrs. Galfano.
"The AD position will require a depth of athletic knowledge, ability to manage people and programs, as well as business and fundraising savvy. Mrs. Galfano possesses this combination of skills."
Galfano most recently was the assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She served as head girls' basketball coach at DW Daniel High School in Central, S.C., and was the track and field coach when the team won the South Carolina state championship.
She played Division I basketball at Cleveland State.
