The Trojans have their second seven-game winning streak of the season after turning back Michigan City. They should get No. 8 Friday at Portage (if Mother Nature allows) before being put to the test Saturday at Munster. Then comes Hammond on Tuesday in the middle of a rigorous three-game stretch.

The Vikings rolled to decisive home wins over LaPorte, Noll and Michigan City, retaining the Duneland lead in the process. It was more home cookin' Thursday with Crown Point in the house as the teams tried to beat the latest snowstorm. The last two with the 'Dogs were thrillers.

Last week: 5 | Record: 13-5
The Mustangs lost a fourth game by five points or less (the other was in overtime) when they blew a big lead against Griffith. That's back-to-back crushers after seven straight wins. Regrouping won't be easy at West Side and home to Chesterton.
Last week: 8 | Record: 16-1
The idle Knights got back at it Thursday with the first of three games in a span of five days. It'll take a postponement to keep these guys from winning out on their pillowy soft remaining schedule. Can you say 22-1? I think you can.
Last week: 10 | Record: 10-8
Four in a row and seven of eight for the Panthers, who are purring after a huge rally to stun Munster. We already addressed the Hammond thing, so it’s on to Highland on Saturday and Bowman on Tuesday as G-Town continues a brutal pre-tournament stretch.

The Niners are back on stride and appear headed for a winner-take-all clash for the Northwest Crossroads crown with Munster. The schedule's in flux with Friday's Hobart game already postponed. Andrean goes to West Side on Tuesday.
