The Times Region Roundball Rumble is set to celebrate its 14th year of high school hoops this Tuesday at the Hammond Civic Center.
Ring in 2013 by spending New Year's Day watching two great games of basketball. Tickets are $8 each and available only at the door. All seats are general admission.
The Rumble kicks off at 3 p.m. with the opening rounds of the Girls 3-Point Shootout.
The E.C. Central girls face unbeaten Logansport in the first game, tipping off at 4:30 p.m.
The boys' Shootout follows at 6, with the the Morton boys basketball team facing Hanover Central in the second game at 7:15 p.m.
Coaches are encouraged to nominate their players to participate in the 3-Point Shootouts.
The Rumble traditionally features some of the area's top high school talent; many Rumble participants have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Past Rumble competitors have included Luke Harangody, now playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and E'Twaun Moore, currently with the Orlando Magic.
