(Last week's ranking in parentheses)
1. Bowman Academy (1) 4-0
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, the Eagles were rocking and squashing the mouse. No cookies and milk to eat on Saturday. Bowman must be ready for Chicago Simeon.
2. Lake Central (2) 4-1
The stocking hung by the Bowman chimney kind of stunk, the way LC shot free throws Friday was bunk. On Tuesday, L.C. was all snuggled in its bed, hitting all the freebies which made Munster dead.
3. Bishop Noll (3) 5-0
Sugar plums were dancing in the Warriors' heads, the way they beat Merrillville in their Nikes and Keds, Tough Lake Station on Saturday and then it's a wrap, then settling the brains for a long winter's nap.
4. Munster (4) 4-1
Then out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, the Mustangs couldn't find what was the matter, a 30-game, regular-season winning streak was ugly-ly broke, L.C. had the pipe and Munster the smoke
5. Chesterton (7) 4-1
The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow, gave light to coach Tom Peller in the game far below. More rapid than Cardinals his coursers they came, the Trojans beat E.C. with a masterly proud claim.
6. E.C. Central (6) 4-3
Now Dasher, now Dancer, now Prancer and now Hyron, you got to finish games if they are to be won. When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky, finish the game and have some pumpkin pie.
7. Crown Point (8) 2-1
With the sleigh full of toys — and St. Clint, too, these Bulldogs get Hanover tonight and a new pair of shoes, then it's off for the holiday which has been earned, then the tourney at Merrillville gets burned.
8. Lowell (9) 4-1
Coach Richie and his clothes all tarnish'd with soot, have won three in a row with a big, black foot, play the Brickies tonight with twinkling eyes so merry, then the Caston Shootout with a bright red cherry.
9. Kouts (10) 5-0
The Mustangs are at Westville tonight for some health, trying to shed the opinion that their schedule is an elf. Coach Matt Crawford's wink of an eye and a twist of his head, Pioneer comes to town in the wood shed.
10. Griffith (NR) 2-1
Tonight the Panthers are Highland to listen to the whistle, And away they all flew, like the down of a thistle, But I heard Gary Hayes exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
