BOONE GROVE
Players to watch: Lukas Kemp, Jr., OH; Brandan Crane, Jr., OH; Quentin Aubrey, Jr., S.
Outlook: Coach Matt McKay is faced with a challenge this season as none of the players on his roster have any varsity experience. The cupboard isn't dry at Boone Grove, but expect some early-season bumps in the road for the Wolves.
Quote: "The expectations are to just try and get better. They'll make some mistakes early and then hopefully we become a lot more consistent." -- McKay
HANOVER CENTRAL
Players to watch: Nick Spangler, Jr., MH; Kevin Roper, Jr., S.
Qutlook: After having a completely revamped roster last season, coach Becky Harper has some experience to lean on this year. Spangler and Roper received plenty of experience as sophomores last year.
HEBRON
Players to watch: Trey Biggs, So., S; Jay Patz, Jr., OH; Cody Artuso, Jr., OH.
Outlook: The Hawks are the team to beat this season after sweeping the PCC round robin and tournament titles last season. Biggs is one of the best players in the area.
KOUTS
Players to watch: Steve Keller, Jr., OH; Andrew Birky, So., OH.
Outlook: The Mustangs might have a young team, but coach Jay Birky likes that the group is incredibly easy to coach on the floor.
Quote: "We're young and our youth tends to show a bit. The guys listen well, they're really competitive and they're winners." -- Jay Birky
LACROSSE
Players to watch: Alex Gorrel, Sr., OH; Sam Culver, So., OH/S; Ross Warner, Sr., S.
Outlook: Unlike most teams in the conference, the Tigers are senior-laden this season with Gorrel and Warner leading the way.
Quote: "We have everyone back from last season except one player. We're still a work in progress, and there is parity in the conference. We'll compete this year." -- coach Ken Roslansky
MORGAN TWP.
Players to watch: Brandon Grubl, Sr., OH; Garrett Heinold, Sr., OH; Brandon Murphy, Jr., MH.
Outlook: Since taking over the team in the middle of last season, coach Matt Bien has changed the culture at Morgan Twp. A middle school program netted six freshmen this season, and the Cherokees look poised to challenge Hebron for the conference crown.
Quote: "We've talked about putting numbers on banners this season." -- Bien
WASHINGTON TWP.
Players to watch: Brandon Hogge, Sr., OH/S; A.J. Whitcomb, Sr., S/OH; Garrett Short, So., MH.
Outlook: With the exception of Hogge and Whitcomb, the Senators don't have a lot of players with varsity experience this season. Despite the youth, coach Justin Holmquest is excited about the talent level in his program.
Quote: "We're working through communication errors, and it's just a chemistry thing. I really think we do have the talent to be competitive." -- Holmquest
