The Times Breakdown
There is a lot of experience and depth as well as high hopes for the Warriors. Last year, ended with a crushing loss to Peoria Richwoods in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs after Crete completed the program's first undefeated regular season since 1952. Treadwell has an 'X' on his back, but there are too many weapons starting with Terrell at quarterback and Lenior at wideout. Running backs Tilley and DeShawn Smith give the Warriors a potent running attack. A big offensive line, anchored by Rosenfeldt, will clear the way. Let's not forget a tough defense anchored by Travelle Smith and Schultz on the line. Morgan is getting a lot of looks from major schools at his linebacker position. There is not a weak spot, but the key will be how hard this team works. Crete has not lost a conference game since 2007 and is undefeated in the Southland Athletic Conference and has made it to the quarterfinals in two of the least three years.
