Williams has it all -- size, speed and a good arm. He is also a standout basketball player. He may be one of the state's top signal-callers and will be one of the reasons H-F will be a top team again.
RB -- Giovanni Canti, T.F. South

2010 stats: 119 carries, 842 yards, 7 TDs rushing, 7 catches, 71 yards
He was the workhorse of the South backfield last year and will be this year. He is strong and has good speed.
RB -- Jeruel Taylor, Marian Catholic
5-11, 210, Sr.
2010 stats: 184 carries, 1,268 yards, 13 TDs, 12 catches, 97 yards,
The three-year starter will again be the workhorse.
TE -- Willie Ross, Homewood-Flossmoor
6-3, 180, Jr.
2010 stats: 21 catches, 510 yards, 9 TDs
Ross and teammate Gerry Butler give the Vikings two-big play receivers and great targets for Williams. He should see a lot of the end zone this season.
WR -- LaQuon Treadwell, Crete-Monee
6-3, 185., Jr.
2010 stats: 58 catches, 811 yards, 7 TDs
A big target with speed, Treadwell will be a difference maker for the Warriors and give opposing defensive backs fits. He averaged 1.39 yards per catch last year in helping the Warriors to their second straight Class 6A quarterfinal appearance.
WR -- Willie Orange, St. Francis de Sales
6-3, 185, Sr.
2010 stats: 47 catches, 521 yards, 11 TDs
Orange was a bright spot for the Pioneers and is their best player this season. He will play both sides of the ball. He averaged 11.1 yards per catch last year.
ATHLETE -- Calvin Lindsey, T.F. North
5-10, 145, Sr.
2010 stats: 71-of-143 passing, 1,080 yards, 13 TDs passing, 5 INTs, 119 carries, 624 yards, 9 TDs rushing
He led the Meteors into their first playoff berth since 2006 and will be the catalyst again this season. He had more than 1,800 all-purpose yards.
OL -- Sal Arceo, Mount Carmel
6-2, 270, Sr.
He is one of the top linemen in the Catholic Blue and should open some big holes for Caravan runners this season.
OL -- Cameron Brown, T.F. South
6-1, 235, Sr.
He will anchor the offensive line and play linebacker as well. He will be a big reason for the Rebels' success in moving the ball and stopping opponents this season.
OL -- Tom Scanlan, Mount Carmel
6-2, 245, Sr.
He started every game at center in helping the Caravan to a second-place finish in Class 8A. He will be one of the top linemen in the Catholic League Blue.
OL -- Phil Faso, Marian Catholic
6-4, 285, Sr.
He is the lone offensive lineman returning and is coming off a good year. He will be the anchor on the line and can be one of the best in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.
OL -- Jeff Myles, Thornton
6-3, 275, Sr.
He will open many holes for the Wildcats this season. He is one of the best in the SouthWest Suburban Red and will be a big part of Thornton's offense.
DEFENSE
DL -- Vontrell Williams, Mount Carmel
2010 stats: 38 tackles, 11 TFLs, 1 forced fumble
6-2, 270, Sr.
Williams has several schools recruiting him and has narrowed it down to Illinois, Indiana and Kansas. A force up front, he will be challenged every week in the Catholic Blue.
DL -- Stephen Davis, Thornridge
5-11, 238, Sr.
2010 stats: 63 tackles, 6 sacks
The Falcons leading returning tackler, he is expected to be a dominant force in the SouthWest Suburban Red. He will see some action at linebacker this season.
DL -- Tyshon Waller, Thornwood
6-2, 220, Sr.
2010 stats: 55 solos, 16 TFL, 8 sacks
The leader of the Thunderbirds' defense, he can be a big-time player. Waller's play could be one of the reasons the T'Birds can make a return to the playoffs after a long drought.
DL -- Rashid Hejazin, Washington
5-9, 268, Sr.
2010 stats: 22 solos, 16 assists
The Saudi Arabia native is one of the Patriots' best defensive players. He is a good run-stopper and is one of the experience players returning.
LB -- Derrick Bryant, Mount Carmel
5-10, 190, Sr.
2010 stats: 68 tackles, 13 TFL for minus (-69) yards
He came strong in the Caravan's run to Champaign and will be counted on again to lead a strong defense.
LB -- Jon Fasel, Crete-Monee
6-0, 221, Sr.
2010 stats: 61 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack
Fasel is a very intelligent player who has a great understanding of the Warriors' defense. He has worked very hard in the offseason to increase his strength.
LB -- Delon Perry, T.F. North
5-8, 195, Sr.
2010 stats: 68 solos, 23 assists, 2 sacks, 5 TFL, 3 fumble recoveries
Perry will also play fullback and is the Meteors leading returning tackler. He is the anchor and leader of the defense. He will be one of the keys if the Meteors are to return to the playoffs.
DB -- Anthony Standifer, Crete-Monee
6-1, 181, Sr.
2010 stats: 9 INTs
The Michigan recruit really came on strong last year and led the state in interceptions. Look for opposing quarterbacks to throw away from him. He shut down several top receivers last year. He has speed, size and football smarts.
DB -- Jalen Woods, T.F. South
6-2, 180, Sr.
2010 stats: 23 solos, 3 assists, 2 INTs
Woods also caught a pass for 19 yards. He made some big plays by breaking up passes and helping stop potential big runs. He will be counted on to be a leader.
DB -- Jalan Banks, Thornton
6-0, 180, Jr.
2010 stats: 45 tackles, 4 INTs
He also caught two touchdown passes. Banks has started 19 varsity games in his two years. He will be one of the top players in the SouthWest Suburban Red.
DB -- David Sowell, Marian Catholic
5-11, 180, Sr.
2010 stats: 28 solos, 50 assists, 1 INT, 1 sack
Sowell has great speed, agility and anticipation. He is a good sideline-to-sideline tackler and should be one of the excellent performers for the Spartans.
K -- Anthony Cresenti, Homewood-Flossmoor
6-3, 222, Sr.
2010 stats: 45 PATs, 40 attempts
Crescenti made 45-of-50 PAT attempts and gives the Vikings a strong kicking game. He did not attempt a field goal last season.
