Thornwood basketball star Darell Combs and Loyola University have mutually agreed to part ways, according to Thornwood basketball coach Paul Slavich.
Slavich said Loyola let Combs out of his letter of intent, which he signed in November and Combs is "seeking academic opportunities elsewhere."
He said Combs is being recruited by Cleveland State, Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky.
In other college basketball news, Homewood-Flossmoor Tim Williams has not decided whether or not he will sign with Florida International University after coach Isiah Thomas was fired Friday.
Williams committed recently to the Miami school and said Thomas was a part of his reason for choosing FIU.
Williams father, Tim Sr., said the family has not had a chance to think things over and will take a few days to sort things out before making a decision. ~! Mike Nieto
