Hammond clinched the Great Lakes Athletic Conference boys basketball title with a 64-47 victory over Morton on Friday night.
Kortrell Caston led Hammond (14-7, 6-0) with 15 points, all from five 3-pointers, and Kyle Collins added 12 point, including two 3-pointers.
Rayan Elabel scored a game-high 16 points for the Governors (8-12, 4-2).
North Newton 59, LaCrosse 52: Bryce Guse scored a game-high 29 points, but the host Spartans (2-16) defeated the Tigers (3-15).
Kyle Mack had a team-high 16 for North Newton. Wade Scheurich had 14.
Zach Brown added 12 for LaCrosse.
Lowell 60, Hebron 49: After being postponed three times due to inclement weather, the Times No. 8 Red Devils (14-3) finally played the Hawks (11-7). Eric Zukauskas scored a game-high 23 points for Lowell, while Zack VanHook added 11.
Donovan Friel drained four 3-pointers and scored a team-high 15 for Hebron. Tony Rose added 14 points, while Spencer Sutherland had 10.
Griffith 48, Kankakee Valley 32: A 17-2 opening quarter proved too much for the visiting Kougars (7-12, 0-6) to overcome in their Northwest Crossroads Conference loss to the Panthers (14-5, 5-1).
Flint Powell led Griffith with 16 points, including five 3-pointers. Chad Noldin added 11 points.
For K.V., Steve Ganzeveld had 11 points.
Kouts 68, Hanover Central 43: Jake Bekelya scored a career-high 31 points to lead the Mustangs (13-3) over the Wildcats (1-18). Matt Stewart added 12 points.
Alex Calvin led Hanover Central with 17 points.
Morgan Township 62, Westville 51: Chase Braden was a sizzling 11-of-15 from the field and 10-of-11 at the free-throw line, finishing with a game-high 32 points in Morgan Township’s Porter County Conference win. Teammate Jake Koselke added 18 points and five assists for the Cherokees (10-7, 4-2).
Alex Henn led the Blackhawks (10-7, 4-3) with 20 points. Chris Wilkins added 11.
Kankakee Trinity Academy 42, Victory Christian 37: Maria Reisinger's 10 points and Callie Klingbeil's 12 rebounds weren't enough as Victory Christian (9-12) fell in the semfinals of Friday's South Shore Christian Conference Tournament in Channahon, Ill.
Leighton Huber had eight points, and Klingbeil added seven for Victory Christian, which plays Grace Christian Academy in today's noon consolation game at Families of Faith Christian Academy.
Lake Central's Belzeski and Portage's Rhoda headline local list of award winners: Lake Central senior Kelly Belzeski and Portage junior Jackie Rhoda were each selected for the Indiana High School Bowling's All-State and All-Tournament teams. Both were first-team selection on the All-State squad.
Crown Point's Sarah Bond was named a second-team selection. All three girls were also members of the IHSB's All-Region Team. Portage's Nicole Walton and Lake Central's Caroline Dienes were also on the Northwest-Lowell squad. Dienes and teammate Jamie Zega were named to the IHSB's Academic All-State squads.
For the boys, Chesterton's Matthew Petrovich and Michigan City's Christopher Hebb were named to the Academic All-State squad.
Boys members of the Northwest-Lowell All-Region squad included Munster's Tyler Hansen, Hebron's Corey Duck, Lowell's Caleb Elliott, Merrillville's Bobby Kammerer and Michigan City's Sam Welch.
