La'Roi Harmon scored a game-high 23 points Friday night to lead Clark to a 60-53 win over Whiting in boys basketball action.

Bernateau Jean-Michel (12 points), Kalil Frith (11) and Marquis Hearon (10) also scored in double-figures for the Pioneers (8-12).

Tom Hildebranski scored 16 for the Oilers (2-18).

Washington Township 59, Morgan Township 54: Ryan Geberin scored a team-high 16 points as the Senators (14-6, 4-3) defeated the Cherokees (5-14, 2-5) in Porter County Conference action.

The Senators tied its boys basketball team record for wins in a season. Brandon Adkins added 13.

Ryan Klikus scored a team-high 20 points for Morgan. Chase Braden and Jake Koselke each added 13 points.

Westville 50, South Central 27: Collin Walker had game highs of 16 points, six rebounds and two steals Friday night to help the Blackhawks (11-9) defeat the Satellties (3-16) and win their seventh consecutive game. Dylan Perney added 10 points and six assists.

Isaiah Thomas led S.C. with eight points.

Kankakee Valley 49, North Judson 40: Matt Myers scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Kougars to the win. Dustin Ketelaar added 10.

Lake Central 59, LaPorte 36: Tye Wilburn led a balanced scoring attack for the Indians (13-7, 10-4) with 10 points in a Duneland Athletic Conference win.

Josh Fleming and Mitch Mrozinksi led LaPorte (5-15, 3-11) with 12 points each.

Wheeler 50, Hobart 32: Wheeler outscored Hobart 21-9 in the third quarter to cruise to the win. Jeremy Truchan led the Bearcats (13-7) with 21 points.

C.J. Komosa topped Hobart (5-15) with seven points.

West Side Sectional tickets on sale at L.C., Munster: The Lake Central and Munster athletic departments will sell season tickets to the West Side Sectional games. 

Fans can purchase tickets at Lake Central from 8 a.m. to noon today and Monday by entering Door A. Fans can purchase tickets at Munster from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Tickets are $10 each, which grants admission to all games of the sectional.

Wheeler selling sectional tickets: Wheeler High School will sell tickets for next week's Class 2A sectional from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Season tickets are $10. Games are scheduled for Tuesday, Friday and March 2.

Whiting selling sectional tickets: Whiting High School will sell tickets for next week's Class 2A Wheeler Sectional from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday in the main office. Tickets will cost $10. Games are scheduled for Tuesday, Friday and March 2.

 

Bowling

Indiana High School All-State teams: Nineteen boys and 15 girls were chosen for the Indiana High School Bowling All-State teams. Boone Grove's Paige Kraushaar was selected to the girls first team, while Lake Central's Allison Sellers, Merrillville's Carly Larson and Portage's Jackie Rhoda made the second team.

On the boys side, Chesterton's Nathaniel Sipe and Lowell's Dylan Myers were selected to the second team.

Kraushaar and Haley Steinhilber made Academic All-State for Boone Grove. Anna Canchola (Hobart), Kierstyn Rush (Lake Central), Kelly Dickerson (Wheeler), Jacob McCoy (Andrean), Joey Dorsch (Lake Central), Joseph Witkowski (Merrillville) and Zach Gilbert (Wheeler) were also honored.
