Taylor Steele chipped in 15 points, including three 3-pointers, for Highland (11-5, 3-1 NCC).
Megan Zabrecky led the Mustangs (4-10, 1-4) with 15 points.
Calumet 37, North Newton 24: Jaireh Ratliff scored seven points and pulled down 20 rebounds to lead the Warriors (3-13) past the Spartans (2-11) in a consolation game of the Greater South Shore Conference Tournament.
Alisha Watts led North Newton with nine points.
Calumet 61, North Newton 38: Anthony Harris poured in 23 points to lead the Warriors (8-3) over the Spartans (1-9) in a GSSC Tournament consolation matchup.
Kyle Mack paced North Newton with 16 points.
Rensselaer 61, North Judson 49: Joey Claussen's 17 points and 11 rebounds paced the Bombers (7-4) in the win.
Bryce Deno added 13 points for Rensselaer.
News and notes
Postponements: Friday's Porter County Conference girls basketball tournament semifinals at Morgan Township were postponed due to the weather.
The games are scheduled to be played at 9 a.m. today at Morgan Township. The host Cherokees will face South Central in the new gym, while Hebron and Kouts will meet in the old gym.
The championship remains scheduled for 6 p.m. at Hebron.
Among other postponements, the Chesterton at Crown Point boys game will be played today, starting with the junior varsity game at noon. Friday's LaPorte and Michigan boys-girls doubleheader was postponed, as was the Hanover Central at Marquette Catholic boys consolation game in the Greater South Shore Conference tournament. No makeup dates had been set for those games.
In addition, today's Fort Wayne Concordia gymnastics invitational has been called off.
