Katie Vance scored a game-high 14 points Friday, leading LaCrosse to a 38-34 Porter County Conference girls basketball victory over Boone Grove, the Tigers' first against the Wolves in more than 20 years.
LaCrosse's last win over Boone was 49-30 during the 1991-92 season.
Naomi Culver added eight points for the Tigers (4-4, 2-1).
Rachel Cantwell led the Wolves (2-8, 1-5) with 14 points, four assists and two steals.
LaPorte 74, Portage 26: The No. 3 Slicers (8-0, 4-0) hit 16 3-pointers en route to a convincing Duneland Athletic Conference win over the Indians. Freshman Nicole Konieczny led all scorers with 23 points, draining six 3-pointers. Jaclyn Heath (four 3-pointers) added 15 points, seven assists and four steals, while Kyleigh Kubik (four 3-pointers) scored 14 points.
Kaitlin Doud led Portage (6-5, 1-3) with eight points and seven rebounds.
Merrillville 73, Michigan City 41: Jaz Talley had 13 points, seven steals and four assists, as the Times No. 5 Pirates (6-3, 2-2) crushed the Wolves in DAC play. Riana Todd added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Michigan City’s Michal Miller scored a game-high 17 points.
Bishop Noll 46, Wheeler 30: Naomi House scored a game-high 13 points to lead the No. 6 Warriors (10-2, 5-0) over the host Bearcats (3-7, 3-1) in Greater South Shore Conference play. Brittany Anderson added 10 points.
Kadie Spoor led Wheeler with 10.
Victory Christian 49, Michigan City Christian Academy 16: Taylor Cross scored 14 points, and Callie Klingbeil had seven points and five assists to lead Victory Christian over visiting Michigan City Christian Academy. Cross, Klingbeil, Natalia Guadron, Katie Mayo, Danielle Stahl had five rebounds apiece as Victory Christian (6-7) outrebounded Michigan City Christian Academy (0-9), 35-23.
Morton 43, Clark 35: Tatyana Skinner had a game-high 18 points, and Alexis Casas added 12 with a pair of 3-point field goals to lead Morton (4-4, 3-0 Great Lakes Athletic Conference).
Clark (3-6, 2-1) didn't post a double-figure scorer, yet managed to hit five 3-pointers out of its 13 field goals.
Boone Grove 63, LaCrosse 46: Ike Mioduski led four players in double figures with 20 points as the host Wolves (2-3, 2-1) defeated the Tigers (1-5, 0-3) in PCC play. Jon Hogg added 17, Niko Kilburg 12 and Kyle Kaminski 11.
Bryce Guse had a team-high 17 for LaCrosse, while Corey James added 13.
Hebron 44, Morgan Township 42: Kyle Hanaway scored 20 points, making nine of 10 free throws, as the Hawks (4-2, 2-1) slipped past the Cherokees in the PCC. Tony Rose posted 11 points while Spencer Sutherland snagged nine boards for Hebron. Jake Koselke (19 points, four assists) and Chase Braden (15 points, eight rebounds) paced Morgan (3-3, 0-1).
