Colin Burton posted a game-high 18 points as the unbeaten Washington Township boys basketball team rolled over North Newton 64-32 on Friday.

Brock Pappas scored 16 for the Senators (7-0), while Zach Little added nine.

Fort Wayne North 68, Valparaiso 63: Brandon Newman knocked down four 3-pointers and posted a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds but the Times No. 2 Vikings (6-1) fell to the 4A No. 10 Legends at the Marion Classic.

Marcus Gholston added eight points for Valpo, while freshman Cooper Jones had seven.

North Judson 65, South Central 58: Josh Sims knocked down five 3-pointers and scored 21 for the Satellites (1-7) in a loss to the Bluejays.

Carson Husmann added 14 points for South Central and Jason Hughes chipped in nine.

Victory Christian 81, Families of Faith 46: The Lions (8-2) led 23-3 after one quarter and were paced by Tyler Schmidt's 26 points.

Ben Lackey had 18 for Victory Christian and Brandon Elea had 15.

Evansville Harrison 86, Marquette Catholic 66: Colin Kenney racked up half of his team's total in a 33-point effort as the Blazers (2-5) took a loss at the Bloomington South Tournament.

Girls basketball

Chesterton 57, Hanover Central 13: Hailey Vale had 16 points as the Times No. 3 Trojans (12-1) rolled the Wildcats, who had three points at halftime.

Courtney Krol and Sarah Dzierba each added 11 points. Krol also totaled seven steals.

Munster 63, Calumet 29: Izzy Bednarowski made a trio of 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 19 points for the Times No. 8 Mustangs (12-2).

Taneigh Boyd recorded 16 points for Munster. Aleena Mongerie had 12.

Jai Reed led the Warriors (3-8) with 11.

Girls volleyball

LaPorte Hall of Fame induction ceremony to take place Jan.26: Ron Clindaniel, Chuck Ford, Lambert "Lamby" Lamberson and Jonell Pinkerton-McKenzie will be inducted in the Norman J. Hubner Athletic Hall of Fame on Jan. 26. The ceremony will take place between the LaPorte-Crown Point boys junior varsity and varsity contests.

Valpo to hold Athletic Hall of Fame Induction: The Valparaiso High School Athletic Hall of Fame will have an induction ceremony Jan. 20 at the Old Town Banquet Center in Valparaiso.

This year's inductees include: Three families (Anselm, Butterfield, O'Neill), four coaches (John Cook, Terry Cox, John Knauff, Lorrie Woycik) and 10 individuals (Jim Arnold, Rob Cavanaugh, Erik Chilian, Micky Mannel-Copeland, Mike Jones, David Knott, Angie Cook-Moon, Joe Otis, Brett Polizotto, Pete Sattler).

There are about 250 tickets left and the last day to buy tickets will be Jan. 10. Tickets cost $35 and are available at the athletic office and will also be sold at all girls' and boys' home basketball games.
