Boone Grove (2-12): With losses last week to Winamac, 65-37, Wheeler, 27-22, and River Forest, 50-41, the Wolves have dropped their last 11 games, the longest losing streak in a season in school history. Sophomore Rachel Cantwell scored a career-best 22 points against Winamac. Sophomore Courtney Casbon matched her personal best with 10 points against the Ingots.
Chesterton (8-8): The Trojans remained at .500 with a 43-39 win over Hobart and a 61-26 loss to LaPorte. They have dropped the last six meetings with the Slicers. Senior Caroline Puntillo accounted for 41 of the team's 69 points in the two games and moved past 1993 grad Allison Lee into sixth on the Chesterton scoring list.
Hebron (5-8): The Hawks dropped a 68-35 decision to Kankakee Valley before bouncing back with a 55-42 win over River Forest that snapped their four-game losing streak. Hebron has dominated the series with the Ingots 29-5 but has lost 22 consecutive games to the Kougars.
Kouts (8-6): The Fillies began last week with a 50-26 win over LaCrosse but followed with losses to Winamac, 53-49, and Morgan Township, 45-43. Kouts has won its last 13 meetings with LaCrosse and finished the Porter County Conference round-robin season 4-3. Sophomore Bella Wireman totaled 30 points in the three games to move over the 200 mark to 203. Senior Megan Heinold equaled her personal best with 15 points against Winamac.
LaCrosse (5-8): Losses to Kouts and Morgan, 47-27, extended the Tigers’ losing streak to four games. Junior Naomi Culver notched a career-high 11 points against the Cherokees. Senior Callie McDougal added six points, bringing her career total to 200.
Morgan Township (10-3): The Cherokees’ victories over LaCrosse and Kouts ran their winning streak to five games and upped their PCC round-robin record to 5-0 with South Central and Washington remaining on the schedule. Senior Trina Coleman totaled 37 points in the two games, including a season-high 23 against Kouts. In the process Coleman moved past 2000 grad Jody Lackey into fifth on the Morgan scoring list. She also moved into 24th on the Porter County scoring list, behind 1992 Hebron grad Kim Vann. Senior Brianna Leuck totaled 16 points in the two games to move over the 400 mark to 412.
Portage (8-8): The Indians defeated Andrean 49-40 prior to a 47-42 loss to Lake Central. Junior Kaitlyn Doud led the way with 18 points against Lake Central and moved past 2004 grad Nicole McDonald into 16th on the Portage scoring list.
South Central (7-6): The Satellites defeated Westville 72-20 to run their winning streak to four as they improved their PCC mark to 4-0. Senior Jill Rosenbaum exploded for a career-high 30 points, moving past 1993 grad Lori Hiigli and 1995 grad Mary Goodwin into fourth on the South Central scoring list with 945 points. She also passed her father, Todd Rosenbaum, who scored 942 points in his career at LaCrosse.
Valparaiso (8-8): The Vikings topped Michigan City 49-40, ending a seven-game losing streak in the series. Junior Heather Fetla tossed in a career-best 18 points.
Washington Township (12-3): The Senators had their seven-game winning streak stopped with a 60-58 loss to North Judson despite a season-high 28 points from junior guard Heather Burton. They rebounded with a 40-34 decision over Lake Station.
Wheeler (7-8):The Bearcats recorded victories over Boone Grove, 27-22, and Calumet, 39-30.
Boone Grove (5-4): Senior Sam Eleftheri scored a personal-best 12 points in the Wolves’ 58-45 win over South Central. Senior Niko Kilburg also had 12 points, matching his career best.
Chesterton (8-3): The Trojans posted wins over Hobart, 52-33, and LaPorte, 60-53, to extend their winning streak to four. Junior Chris Palombizio totaled 53 points in the two games to move over the 600 mark to 618. He ranks 27th at Chesterton, just ahead of 1963 grad Randy Tavernier. Chesterton has won its last 19 meetings with the Brickies.
Hebron (6-3): The Hawks dropped a 65-59 decision to Lake Station in which junior Drew Wheeler matched his career high with 13 points.
Kouts (9-1): The Mustangs held off Washington Township 59-56 as they recorded their 26th consecutive PCC round-robin win, a league record. Kouts is 4-0 in the PCC this season. The Mustangs lead the all-time series with the Senators 82-23.
LaCrosse (2-9): The Tigers dropped a 76-53 decision to Morgan despite a season-high 25 points from senior Bryce Guse.
Morgan Township (6-4): A win over LaCrosse was Morgan’s 12th straight in the series in which the Cherokees hold a 54-21 advantage. Sophomore Jake Koselke burned the Tigers for a career-best 27 points. Junior Chase Braden added 17 points and moved into a tie for 35th on the Morgan scoring list with 2008 grad Eric Spaulding.
Portage (7-6): The Indians dropped a 64-48 decision to Lake Central despite a personal-best 15 points from Mike Lattanzi. Portage has dropped six straight to Lake Central.
Valparaiso (7-5): The Vikings had their four-game winning streak snapped with a 52-47 loss to Michigan City. Valpo still holds a 22-12 advantage in the series.
Washington Township (7-4): The Senators fell to Culver 68-55 prior to a loss to Kouts. Senior Brandon Adkins scored 17 points against the Mustangs to move over the 600 mark to 605. Senior Alex Lowther totaled 28 points in the two games, including a career-high 24 against Kouts, to move over the 200 mark to 224.
Westville (6-4): The Blackhawks beat West Central 69-47 to knot the series at 3-3. Senior guard Shawn Gerron tallied 15 points to move over the 500-point milestone at 514. He is the 52nd Westville player to reach that mark.
Wheeler (3-5): Junior Chris Nodd recorded a personal-best 17 points in a 53-49 overtime loss to Whiting.
