Boone Grove (2-4): Thursday's contest at Bowman Academy will mark the 200th game for Wolves coach Linda Eleftheri.
Chesterton (4-3): The Trojans recorded wins over E.C. Central, 64-37, and Michigan City, 58-51, last week, with senior Caroline Puntillo totaling 50 points in the two games. The area's scoring leader became the ninth player in Chesterton history to reach the 700-point plateau.
Hebron (3-4): The Hawks were beaten by Griffith, 37-23, marking the 12th consecutive win in the series for the Panthers. Hebron bounced back with a 49-26 win over Covenant Christian, with senior Katie Clemens notching a career-high 15 points.
Kouts (3-3): The Fillies dropped a 30-25 decision to Washington Township, with junior Jayla Crump netting 12 points to move into 23rd on the Kouts scoring list. She passed 1986 graduate Jami Joslyn, 1991 grad Jamie McMahan and 1996 grad Jodie Rudolph.
LaCrosse (3-2): Senior Callie McDougal scored a personal-best 16 points in a 51-28 win over Westville. Sophomore Katie Vance matched her career best with 15 points. The Tigers have won four straight from the Blackhawks and lead the series 41-30.
Morgan Township (6-3): The Cherokees began the week with a 46-26 win over Wheeler, followed with a 31-30 loss to Argos and then beat Lake Station 62-19. Junior Alison Goetz netted a personal-best 10 points against the Eagles. Senior Trina Coleman totaled 31 points in the three games and stands three points shy of the 1,000-point plateau.
South Central (1-3): The Satellites recorded their first win of the year with a 53-36 victory over Washington Township. It was South Central’s seventh win in the last eight meetings between the two schools. Senior Jill Rosenbaum scored 11 points to move over the 800 mark for her career to 803. She is the ninth player in Satellites history to reach that plateau.
Valparaiso (3-4): After a 72-38 loss to LaPorte, the Vikings snapped a four-game losing streak with a 60-50 win over Highland in which juniors Heather Fetla (17) and Stephanie Parker (14) each scored a personal best. The Vikings have a 23-3 advantage in the series with the Trojans. They have a 39-9 lead over LaPorte but have dropped the last five meetings.
Washington Township (5-2): In three Porter County Conference games, the Senators beat Kouts by five, lost to South Central by 17 and beat Boone 47-23. The win over Boone stopped a nine-game losing streak in the series. Junior Heather Burton scored 13 points against the Wolves and moved past 1992 grad Tonya Martin into the top 10 at Washington. Senior Sammie Higgins added seven points to move over the 400 mark to 403.
Westville (0-6): Freshman Mary Parkman tallied a career-high 11 points in a loss to LaCrosse.
Wheeler (2-5): The Bearcats suffered a 46-31 loss to North Judson and a 20-point loss to Morgan before topping Lake Station 47-36. It was Wheeler’s 30th consecutive win over the Eagles. Junior Shannon Eden notched a personal best with 17 points against Lake Station, and junior Allie Stevenson added a season-high 15 to move over the 300 mark to 309.
Boone Grove (1-1): Senior Jon Hogg fired in a season-high 20 points in a 50-44 PCC win over Washington Township. Boone has a 114-20 advantage in the series with the Senators.
Chesterton (2-0): The Trojans topped Morton 75-64 behind a career-high 31 points from junior Chris Palombizio. Senior Jake Wasielewski matched his personal best with 13 points.
Hebron (2-2): The Hawks dropped a 58-53 decision to Wheeler despite a career-best 22 points from junior Bryce Hanaway. Junior Spencer Sutherland (19) and sophomore Ryan Daniel (16) each recorded personal bests in a 67-41 win over Victory Christian.
Kouts (4-0): The Mustangs recorded wins over Covenant Christian, 72-42, and Kankakee Valley, 57-46. Senior guard Jake Bekelya scored a career-high 27 points against the Knights, and sophomore Dylan Bruce added a personal-best 13. Senior Matt Stewart totaled 24 points in the two games and moved past nine players into 43rd on the Kouts scoring list, behind 1978 grad Jeff Yergler. The Mustangs are 20-24 against the Kougars.
LaCrosse (1-3): The Tigers suffered losses to Oregon-Davis, 62-48, and Westville, 71-57, before picking up their first win of the season over South Newton, 49-46. Corey James poured in a career-best 26 points against the Blackhawks. The series with O-D stands at 34-34. It was the first-ever meeting with the Rebels.
Morgan Township (1-2): The Cherokees lost to North Judson, 73-37, and Culver, 84-59, with sophomore Jake Koselke netting a career-high 17 points against the Cavaliers. Morgan has dropped its last four decisions to the Bluejays.
South Central (1-2): Sophomore David Williams tallied a personal-best 12 points in a 45-43 overtime loss to River Forest. The Satellites defeated Oregon-Davis, 33-28, and lost to Crown Point, 62-38, in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. South Central has won the last eight meetings with the Bobcats.
Valparaiso (2-1): The Vikings dropped a 51-45 decision to Penn in the first meeting between the two schools since 2003. Senior Justin Osburn scored 12 points to move over the 200 mark for his career to 208.
Westville (1-1): Westville’s 13-point win over LaCrosse gave the Blackhawks a 70-69 advantage in the rivalry.
Wheeler (2-0): The Bearcats opened with a 58-53 win over Hebron and followed with a 62-58 decision over River Forest. Junior Trent Foster scored a personal-best 22 against the Hawks. Junior Hobart transfer Chris Nodd scored 15 points against Hebron in his varsity debut. Senior James Miller (14) and sophomore Jared Catherman (16) each notched a career high against the Ingots. Wheeler has won 28 of the 50 meetings with the Ingots.
