Boone Grove (2-2): The Wolves defeated Westville 41-21 last week with sophomore Courtney Casbon netting a career-high 10 points. They followed with a 41-38 loss to Hebron despite a personal-best 12 points from sophomore Sarah Brown. The Wolves hold a 26-8 advantage over Westville in their series and are 52-33 against Hebron.
Chesterton (2-2): The Trojans rolled over Bowman Academy 64-38 and then topped South Central 51-45 to record their first two wins of the season. It was the first-ever meeting between Chesterton and South Central. Senior Caroline Puntillo totaled 46 points in the two games to move over the 600 mark for her career to 629. She moved past 2009 graduate Morgan Palombizio and 2004 grad Catherine Campbell into 14th place on the Chesterton scoring list. Senior Sarah Richards tallied 13 points in the two games to move over the 200 mark to 212. Senior Jocelyn Lipscomb scored a season-high 18 against Bowman.
Hebron (2-2): The Hawks lost to Lowell 40-31 and Washington Township 46-41 before topping Boone Grove. Senior Lauren Carlson totaled 22 points in the three games to move over the 300 mark to 316. Sophomore Jewel Elam notched a career-high 10 points against the Senators. Hebron has dropped 23 of the 27 meetings with the Red Devils.
Kouts (2-2): The Fillies defeated Covenant Christian 45-24 before falling to West Central 42-30. Junior Jayla Crump totaled 35 points in the two games, including a season-high 21 against Covenant. With 508 career points, Crump became the 29th player in Kouts history to reach the 500-point milestone.
LaCrosse (2-2): The Tigers fell to West Central 56-22 before crushing 21st Century 72-13 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Sophomore Katie Vance netted a personal-best 15 points against 21st Century. The Tigers have dropped 23 of the 24 meetings with the Trojans. The 72 points scored against 21st Century is the most points scored in a game by LaCrosse since topping Hebron 75-71 in overtime in 1990. The school record is 79.
Morgan Township (2-2): The Cherokees defeated River Forest 51-24 for their 13th win in the last 14 meetings between the two schools. They followed with a 55-44 loss to Kankakee Valley. Senior Hannah Murphy scored seven points against the Kougars to move over the 200 mark to 206.
Portage (2-1): Sophomore Kaitlyn Steers led the way with a career-best 17 points in the Indians' 46-31 win over E.C. Central. The win gave Portage a 10-9 lead in its series with the Cardinals. The Indians then fell to Lowell 40-35 in the first meeting between the two schools since the Portage holiday tournament in 1980.
South Central (0-2): Sophomore Riley Popplewell poured in a season-high 19 points in a loss to Chesterton.
Valparaiso (2-2): The Vikings dropped a 46-45 decision to Plymouth despite a career-high-equaling 13 points from junior Heather Fetla. The Vikings were without the services of leading scorer Grace Withrow and senior Kristina Veljovic, who were playing in an all-star soccer game in Indianapolis.
Washington Township (2-0): The Senators began their season with wins over Marquette, 55-17, and Hebron, marking the first time a Washington team started a season 2-0 since 2002. Junior guard Heather Burton led the way, totaling 27 points in the two games. The win over Hebron snapped a six-game Senators losing streak in the series.
Westville (0-5): The Blackhawks lost to Oregon-Davis for the 24th consecutive time and the 44th time in 50 meetings.
Wheeler (0-2): Junior Shannon Eden recorded a season-high 10 points in a 26-24 loss to Griffith. The Panthers have beaten Wheeler in seven of the last eight meetings.
