Chesterton (5-3): The Trojans recorded a 40-27 win over Portage last week to take a 38-25 advantage in the series. Senior Caroline Puntillo scored 18 points and moved past 2012 grad Lindsay Gorman into eighth on the Chesterton scoring list. Senior Jocelyn Lipscomb added 14 points to move over the 300 mark to 303.
Hebron (4-4): The Hawks defeated LaCrosse 49-34 for their 13th consecutive win in the series. Senior Katie Clemens sizzled with a personal-best 20 points.
Kouts (4-3): Juniors Jayla Crump (22) and Megan Heinold (10) each recorded a season high in a 50-17 win over Westville. The Fillies have taken 25 straight games from the Blackhawks and lead the series 39-4.
Morgan Township (7-3): Senior Trina Coleman surpassed the 1,000-point plateau with 17 points in a 51-45 win over Whiting. Coleman, with 1,014 career points, is the seventh girl in Morgan history to reach 1,000.
Portage (5-4): The Indians defeated South Central 51-46 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. They followed with a 13-point loss to Chesterton. Junior Kaitlyn Doud totaled 37 points in the two games, including a personal-best 26 against the Satellites. With 502 career points, Doud became the 23rd player in Portage history to reach 500 points.
South Central (2-4): After a five-point loss to Portage, the Satellites responded with an 80-44 win over River Forest, marking only the second time a South Central team has scored as many as 80 points in the last eight years. Sophomore Riley Popplewell tallied 14 points against the Ingots to move over the 300 mark to 313.
Valparaiso (3-5): The Vikings dropped a 57-42 decision to Crown Point. The Vikings still hold a 31-26 edge over the Bulldogs in the series.
Wheeler (3-5): Freshman Sierra Slaydon scored a career-high 14 points in a 54-15 win over Marquette. Wheeler has beaten the Blazers 14 straight times and leads the series 26-7.
Boone Grove (1-3): The Wolves suffered losses to Westville, 59-49, and Highland, 54-51. Junior Isaac Mioduski scored a career-high 17 points against the Blackhawks and followed with 23 against the Trojans. Senior Sam Eleftheri scored a personal-best 10 points against Westville.
Chesterton (3-1): The Trojans lost to Bowman Academy 82-60 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. They bounced back with a 59-54 win over Roosevelt in the first meeting with the Panthers in seven years. Chesterton is 3-0 in the series with Roosevelt. Sophomore Niles Dilosa notched a career-high 11 points against the Eagles. Senior Jake Wasielewski poured in a personal-best 19 points against Roosevelt. Senior Corey Rusboldt totaled 13 points in the two games to move over the 300 mark for his career to 310.
Hebron (3-2): Junior Bryce Hanaway fired in a personal-best 27 points in leading the Hawks to a 66-53 victory over LaCrosse. Hebron leads the series 45-29 and has captured the last six meetings.
Kouts (5-0): The Mustangs remained unbeaten with a 50-39 decision over South Central. Senior Matt Stewart grabbed a career-best 19 rebounds. Senior Cody Nelson tallied six points to move over the 400 mark for his career to 401. Kouts holds a 27-22 advantage in the series with the Satellites and has won the last four meetings.
LaCrosse (1-4): The Tigers fell to Hebron despite a season-high 24 points from senior Bryce Guse and a career-best 10 points from sophomore Zach Brown.
Morgan Township (2-2): The Cherokees' 38-35 win over Kankakee Valley was their third win in nine meetings between the two schools.
Portage (3-1): The Indians defeated Hobart, 77-31, and Clark, 59-17. The win over Hobart was the 300th in the coaching career of Rick Snodgrass. The last time Portage held an opponent to as little as 17 points came in a 23-17 win over Lake Station in 1979. The last time the Indians held back-to-back opponents to a combined 48 points or less came in 1947 when they recorded wins over Boone Grove, 47-16, and Jackson Township, 35-21. Junior Tim Bryant netted a career-best 12 points against the Brickies and duplicated the effort against Clark. Senior Oliver Bishop had a career-high 11 points against Clark.
South Central (1-3): Junior Mark Richards had a career-high 15 points in a loss to Kouts.
Valparaiso (2-3): The Vikings dropped games to Lowell, 40-34, and New Prairie, 62-50. Junior Drew Paul netted a personal-best 10 points against the Red Devils, and senior Justin Osburn broke loose for a career-high 21 against New Prairie.
Washington Township (2-1): Sophomore Nathan Line (15) and senior Bryce Pappas (13) each chalked up career bests in a 75-60 win over Victory Christian.
Westville (2-1): The Blackhawks' 10-point win over Boone Grove snapped an 11-game losing streak in the series. Senior Shawn Gerron tossed in a season-high 19 points to move over the 400 mark to 402. Senior Collin Walker added 14 points to move over the 300 mark to 311.
