Last year: 7-14, 3-3 GLAC.
Coach Lawrence Chase led the Pioneers to a seven-win season in 2012-13, the winningest campaign in recent memory in Robertsdale. "That was a huge improvement," Chase said. "We tried to believe more in ourselves that we were able to win some games last year." The Pioneers have good senior leadership this season, which should equate to more wins. "We'll look to be a scrappy team and get after opponents defensively," Chase said. "Last year, we were learning." The statistical improvements have helped the Pioneers gain more confidence in themselves. "They've stepped up the work ethic and dedication as a team," Chase said. "They're wanting to get better as a whole." It may still be an uphill battle in the Great Lakes Athletic Conference and sectional, but the Pioneers are headed in the right direction. — Matt Douthett
