Analysis: The program's all-time leading scorer finished a sensational career with 44 goals and 12 assists. She is getting looks from Division I schools due to her overall skills and penchant for filling the back of the net.
Jenna Arnold | Crown Point
Position: Defense
Year: Junior
Analysis: The diminutive Arnold has become the standard for defense in the region. She's capable of playing anywhere, but coach Chris Mikrut said she's too valuable to move from the back. "She has shut down many of the region's best scorers and is very dangerous with the ball attacking from the back," Mikrut said.
Bridget Brendza | Chesterton
Position: Forward/Midfield
Year: Junior
Analysis: Brendza assumed control of the offense with 17 goals and three assists. She might be slender in stature, but that doesn't stop the junior from aggressive forays inside the 18-yard line. Opposing teams have to be disappointed Brendza still has one prep season left.
Lauren Doreski | Lake Central
Position: Midfield/Forward
Year: Senior
Analysis: Doreski has been one of the most dangerous players in the area for a long time. The IUPUI-bound senior has a rare combination of speed, size and athleticism few can match. Coach Julie Moore moved her all over the pitch because there simply wasn't a position she couldn't play well.
Alison Engle | Munster
Position: Defense
Year: Senior
Analysis: It's probably not a coincidence that Engle has been a member of two Munster teams with undefeated conference records in three years. "She was difficult to beat in the back," coach Val Pflum said. "Quick, reads the game well and can control the ball out of the back."
Alexa Fratzke | Wheeler
Position: Midfielder
Year: Senior
Analysis: Fratzke provided leadership on a youthful roster, and was an adept scorer with 18 goals and 14 assists. She's a key reason the Bearcats won the program's first Northwest Indiana Soccer Conference and sectional crowns.
Allison Goodrich | Munster
Position: Forward
Year: Junior
Analysis: Goodrich scored 13 goals, despite missing six games with a bruised retina. The junior has led the Mustangs in goals each of the last two seasons. She illustrates the Munster brand of "pretty soccer" perhaps better than any other player.
Liz Krilich | Andrean
Position: Midfield
Year: Senior
Analysis: Krilich is a four-year starter and three-time first team all-conference. She'll be playing college soccer at St. Francis, where the two-time academic all-stater will likely star in the classroom, as well. "Many coaches had great things to say about here at the (district) meeting this year," coach Tony Pagorek said. "She is a fierce competitor."
Rachel Marczewski | Crown Point
Position: Midfielder
Year: Senior
Analysis: This year's Times Player of the Year was the engine that made Crown Point run, scoring four big goals down the stretch and setting up her teammates for a good portion of the rest. "She is the best tactical player I have had and she makes every girl around her better with her passes or her verbal direction," Mikrut said.
Cindy McInerney | Griffith
Position: Midfield
Year: Senior
Analysis: McInerney was the quarterback of a Panthers squad that, if not for a few injuries, may have challenged for a Northwest Crossroads Conference title. She was described by one opposing coach as "the real deal," the senior scored 16 goals and notched nine assists.
Meghan Morasan | Crown Point
Position: Goalie
Year: Sophomore
Analysis: The Bulldogs didn't lose to a region team and Morasan set a school record with 12 shutouts. "She gave us a chance to win even if we could only get one goal in," Mikrut said. The sophomore was carried of the field in the semistate semifinal, but came back out to put on a heroic performance in the final that night.
Kaylee Pullins | Valparaiso
Position: Midfielder
Year: Senior
Analysis: The Butler-bound player made up for lost time after she missed a few games early in the season due to a leg injury. She was a crucial member of the offense either scoring or setting up goals.
Lauren Reineke | Valparaiso
Position: Midfielder
Year: Junior
Analysis: Reineke continued to develop as a solid offensive player for the Vikings. She had both of Valpo's goals in a regional semifinal win against Lake Central. The junior gave players like Pullins and others another scoring option.
Sarah Rivich | Crown Point
Position: Midfield/Forward
Year: Senior
Analysis: Last season's Times Player of the Year is as athletic and talented as any athlete in the state. Her impressive career was made even more so because she spent much of the time struggling with leg injuries. Who knows what could have happened had she been fully healthy during the last two Bulldogs playoff runs.
Andrea Violanti | Valparaiso
Position: Midfielder
Year: Senior
Analysis: Violanti scored the game's lone goal in a sectional title win against Chesterton, and scored in the regional final against Crown Point. She was a consistent performer for the Vikings, and key reason they were one of the top teams in the area.
