Three boys hoops coaches successful in debuts
T.F. South's John O'Rourke, Washington's James Michaels and St. Francis deSales' Deon Tolliver were all victorious in their boys basketball head coaching debuts Monday night.
T.F. South beat Lincoln-Way Central 97-80 in the Lincoln-Way North Tournament as Mike Johnson had 27 points and Jarvis Isbell scored 20. Mike Lee and Justin Smith had 13 points each. Smith added four rebounds and four steals.
Rashad Ali's seven points, 13 rebounds and three blocks led Washington to a 44-43 win over Douglas at the Ag Science Thanksgiving Tournament.
Carl Gholston Jr. had 12 points for the Minutemen.
Alex Vasquez had 16 points, and Damon Goodloe had 11 points and nine rebounds to lead St. Francis de Sales to a 60-42 win over Chicago Christian at the Chicago University High Tournament.
Lester leads No. 1 Warriors
No. 1 Crete-Monee 53, Oak Forest 45: North Carolina A&T State recruit Ray Lester's 15 points and 12 rebounds led the No. 1 Warriors to a season-opening win over the Bengals at the Andrew Tournament.
Marvie Keith had 13 points while Kentrell King had 10. James Crockett had nine points.

Blazing Trojans cruise in opener
Bloom Twp. 50, Lindblom 24 | Andrew Rosales led a balanced scoring attack with nine points to lead the Blazing Trojans (1-0) to the win.
Deron Perkins had eight points and Phillip Andrade added seven.
Bloom Twp. pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Lindblom 11-4 to take a 37-18 lead.
Jackson leads Spartans in loss to Hawks
Hillcrest 73, Marian Catholic 42 | Dominic Jackson's 13 points and DiAndre Bellamy's 11 led the Spartans (0-1) in the loss.
Robert Coles added four points for Marian.

Brink sparks Vikings in win
Illiana Christian 77, Reed-Custer 34 | Jordan Brink's game-high 21 points, four rebounds and four steals led the Vikings (1-0) to the win.
Matt DeJong had 14 points and Jon DeYoung added 10.

St. Francis deSales 57, Illinois Lutheran 27 | Freshman Brianta McMorris scored 22 points and classmate Whitney Williams added 15 as the Pioneers topped Illinois Lutheran in both teams' season opener . Tyler Brown chipped in 10 points for St. Francis deSales.

No. 4 Vikings roll into title game
Illiana Christian 54, Bremen 22 | Mariel Knot had 14 points, Jessica Wiltjer and Megan Huizenga each had 10, and Erinn Behn had nine assists and four steals to lead the No. 4 Vikings (4-0) to the championship game of the Beecher Tournament.
Illiana Christian will play Bradley-Bourbonnais 7:30 p.m. today for the title.
Griffin, Harris lead Ladycats to second straight win
Beecher 40, Manteno 18 | Amari Grffin had 21 points and Jordyn Harris had 13 as the Ladycats (2-2) topped the Panthers (0-4).
Ashlyn Snuckel had five rebounds and five assists. Griffin added five steals.
