Michael Orris will go through the recruiting process once again.

The Crete-Monee graduate and Kansas State freshman announced Monday he was transferring from the Manhattan, Kan. school.

In a statement released by the university, Orris had nothing but praise for coach Bruce Weber and the university.

“I have really enjoyed my time at K-State,” Orris said. “It is difficult to leave my friends, teammates and coaches, but I think this decision is the best for my future in basketball.

"I will always be appreciative of the opportunity given to me by Coach Weber to come here and all the support by all those involved at K-State.”

He told The Times via a text message: "I don't know where i am going at this present time."

Orris had original committed to Creighton, then de-committed and signed with Illinois. When Weber was fired, Orris got out of his letter of intent in April 2012 and signed with Kansas State to play for Weber.

Weber wished Orris weil.

“Over the past week, he and I have had several discussions about his future and he thinks this gives him the best chance to be successful,” Weber said in a statement. “I wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward with his life.”

Orris played in 15 games and scored a total of four points this season.
