Crete-Monee linebacker Nyles Morgan and Mount Carmel running back Matt Domer were named to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association's all-state teams Friday.
Morgan, a U.S. Army All-American, was named to the Class 6A team as he helped the Warriors to their ninth straight playoff berth. Morgan came back from missing the season opener with a sore knee to make 100 tackles in nine games, 12 TFLs, two sacks, two forced fumbles and returned an interception for a touchdown.
Morgan is uncommitted, but has more than 30 college offers.
Domer, an Illinois recruit, was named to the Class 7A team.
He missed two games with an injury, but has rushed for 1,125 yards on 133 carries. He had 11 rushing touchdowns and 13 total. He also caught seven passes for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Domer and the Caravan play at Edwardsville today in a Class 7A semifinal.
Tinley Park 67, Illiana Christian 44: Freshman Gabby Kreykes just missed a triple-double with 17 points, nine rebounds and eight steals, but the Vikings (0-2) fell to the Titans at the Beecher Ladycat Fall Classic.
Teammate Tatum Oppenhuis had 13 points as Illiana fell behind, 15-9, after one quarter and 38-24 at halftime.
IHSA state meet: Neither Marian Catholic's Abby Kresal nor Homewood-Flossmoor's Susanna Reese advanced from Friday's preliminaries at New Trier High School.
Kresal was 22nd in the 200-yard individual medley (2:10.59) and 28th in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.21). The top six qualify for today's championship finals and the second six for the consolation finals.
Reese was 48th in the 50 freestyle (24.89).
