The first day of fall sports practices at T.F. South High School is Aug. 14.
Students participating in a sport need a current, up-to-date sports physical. A sports physical form can be downloaded from the school's website, www.tfd215.org/south. On the homepage, click on "Athletics and Activities." Forms can be printed out.
Varsity football players can pick up equipment at 9 a.m. Aug. 13 at the equipment shed. Sophomore players can pick up equipment at 10 a.m.
Here are the start dates for each sport on Aug. 14:
Boys cross country — 8 a.m. at Schultz Park; Girls cross country — 9 a.m. at Door W-2; Golf — 8 a.m., Mini buses near football field for trip to Balmoral Woods for varsity and Lansing Country Club for frosh-soph; Boys soccer — 7:30 a.m., Door W-2 for buses to T.F. North; Girls swimming — 8 a.m. at T.F. South pool; Girls tennis — 8 a.m. for frosh-soph and 10 a.m. for varsity at T.F. South tennis courts; Girls volleyball — 9 a.m. for frosh-soph and 12:30 p.m for varsity. Both in red gym.
Football is at 8 a.m. at the football practice fields.
Marian Catholic callout: Marian Catholic reminds all athletic participants they must have a physical form filled out by Aug. 14, which is the first day of fall practices.
All levels of football will start at 1:20 p.m. at the football field.
Boys and girls cross country will start at 7 a.m. at the school track. Boys varsity golf will begin tryouts at 12:30 p.m. at Lincoln Oaks. There is a $75 greens fee for the entire tryout. The frosh-soph fee is $50 and the first tryout is at 5 p.m. at Lincoln Oaks. There is a registration meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12 in the East Gym.
Girls golf will hold tryouts at 6:30 a.m. at Coyote Run. The is a $20 green fee per round. There is a registration meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 in the Marian Athletic Conference Room.
Men's soccer is 3-5 p.m. at the stadium, west campus for all levels. Girls Tennis is at 1 p.m. at the tennis courts. Varsity girls volleyball is 8-11 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m. in the school's gyms. Freshmen and sophomores are noon-3 p.m. and 4-7 p.m.
