Christopher Seaton's 38 point led the Seton Academy boys basketball team to a 74-68 season-opening win over Thornridge on Monday at the Joliet West Tournament.
Seaton also had seven rebounds. Eron Evans had 12 points and eight rebounds.
St. Benedict Thanksgiving Tournament: St. Francis de Sales had five players score in double figures as the Pioneers beat Michelle Clark 87-82 in the opening round to give new coach Bob Oderwald a win in his first game.
Derrick Dawson led the way with 25 points, including three 3-point field goals, and Cornelius McIntosh added 21 points for de Sales (1-0), which advances to Friday's semifinal round.
Beecher 46, St. Anne 29: Savanah Stluka's 14 points and Danielle Snuckel's 13 led the Ladycats (2-2) to a win in the consolation bracket of the Ladycat Fall Classic.
Illiana Christian 50, Bremen 44: Bria Cole's 16 points led the Vikings (2-3) past the Braves in the consolation bracket of the Ladycat Fall Classic.
Gabby Kreykes and Janna Vree added 12 points each.
Hope Academy 60, Illinois Lutheran 51: Kassie Kerrigan's 17 points and Caroline Kuether's 15 led the Chargers (1-1) at the Morgan Park Academy Thanksgiving Tournament.
Hope took a 38-21 halftime lead before Illinois Lutheran tired a second-half comeback.
T.F. South 2,000, Lincoln-Way North 1,856: Taveon Roberson's 496 series led the Rebels past the Phoenix.
Roberson had games of 267 and 229 as the Rebels moved to 6-0.
Comcast to air finals: For the third-straight year, Comcast SportsNet will televise the IHSA championships on Friday and Saturday from Huskie Stadium in DeKalb.
It starts with the Class 1A contest at 10 a.m. Friday and concludes with Saturday's 7 p.m. Class 8A matchup between Loyola Academy and Naperville Central.
Friday’s Class 4A championship between Geneseo and Rochester, and Saturday’s Class 8A championship will air on Comcast SportsNet Plus.
