Marian Catholic's Jose Champagne and Homewood-Flossmoor's Michael Burke each won sectional titles Saturday in different classes.
Champagne (26-0) pinned Bremen's Ryan Foster in 3;35 to win the 152-pound title at the Class 2A De La Salle Sectional.
Burke (7-0), who missed most of the season with a knee injury, beat Plainfield East's Zachary Krause 4-1 to win the 120-pound Class 3A Normal West Sectional title.
Teammates Connor Bandy (145) and Devon May (220) also qualified for the state meet at the University of Illinois. The meet is Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The top four in each weight class advance.
Bloom Township's Dominique Taylor also qualified from the Normal West Sectional.
At De La Salle, Marian's Josh Jones (113) also advanced.
Class 2A Pontiac Sectional: Crete-Monee's Brandon Hannigan was fourth at 170 pounds and advances to the state meet.
Class 1A Plano Sectional: Beecher-Grant Park's Kyle Krenmuller and Kevin McNally were second at 138 and 182 pounds respectively to advance to the state meet.
Teammate Mitch Darabaris was fifth at 132 and will be an alternate.
Marian Catholic 59, Fenwick 41: Ashton Millender's 17 points led the No. 2 Spartans (22-4, 8-0) to a perfect East suburban Catholic Conference record with the road win over the Friars.
Teniya Page had 12 points and eight assists. Millender added eight rebounds and three steals.
Boys swimming and diving
H-F Diving Invitational: Marian Catholic's Joey Cifelli was the overall winner with 498.70 points for 22 dives.
Homewood-Flossmoor's Santiago Concepcion-Wall was 10th (265.55).
Boys indoor track and field
Thornwood meet: Thornwood's Khalil Lightbourne (2-mile run and mile) and Eric Maymon (triple jump and pole vault) were double winners in the nonscoring meet.
Teammates Dwight Johnson (50 dash), Antwon West (60 low hurdles) and Zeondre Williams (300) were also winners as were the Thunderbirds' 880 and mile relay teams.
