The T.F. South wrestling team had individual standouts in weight class winners Jake Tisza (138 pounds) and Tyrone Johnson (182) at the Buffalo Grove tournament on Saturday.
Tisza won two of his three matches by technical fall. Darrin Marshall was third at 170.
Downers Grove South Dual Tournament: Bloom Township finished 2-2, losing 42-21 to Crystal Lake Central in the championship semifinals.
The Blazing Trojans were 2-1 in pool play.
Pontiac Invitational: Thornwood was fifth with 122 1/2 points. Joliet West won the team title (238 points).
Thornwood's Kris Williams was first at 120 pounds, winning two matches by fall and one by technical fall. Teammate David Johnson took first at 182. Teammates Lexus Gordon (106) and Turah Reed (220) both finished third.
Marian Catholic 50, Proviso East 39: Kauai Bradley had 11 points and Ashton Millender and Jerrell Matthews each grabbed seven rebounds, leading the Spartans to the win at the Oswego Hoops for troops Tournament.
The Spartans (6-1) put it away with a 30-23 second half.
Bolingbrook 59, Crete-Monee 53: The Warriors were outscored 23-13 in the fourth quarter, falling to the Raiders at the Whitney Young Chi-Town Showdown.
Marsha Howard's 22 points and 13 rebounds led Times No. 3 Crete-Monee (7-2). Lindzy Cox had 14 points.
Kenwood 72, Bloom Township 53: Anika Johnson had 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Blazing Trojans (3-7) at the Whitney Young Chi-Town Showdown.
Ariana Dampier added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Bishop Noll 61, Lake Station 31: Elena Sobilo had 16 points and Naomi House 15, leading the Warriors (8-2, 4-0) past the Eagles (4-4, 1-4) in Greater South Shore Conference play.
Lake Station's Desiree Parrillo had 11 points.
Hambric pairings announced: Host T.F. North will face Mount Carmel in the 7 p.m. game Jan. 11 in the Bob Hambric Shootout at T.F. North.
Leo will face Harlan in the noon opener, followed by Crete-Monee and Dunbar at 2. E.C. Central faces Marshall at 5.
On Jan. 12, T.F. South plays Hyde park at noon and St. Joseph takes on Lincoln-Way North at 2.
Providence-St. Mel and Bogan square off at 5, followed by North Chicago and Curie at 7:30.
