Larry Moore won the 60-yard low and high hurdles to highlight Thornwood's second-place finish in a six-team indoor boys track meet Saturday.
Wole Daramola took first in the mile and second in the two mile, while Dwight Johnson placed first in the 440 and second in the 50.
Donte Briggs captured the long jump, followed by Kenneth Allen, who was the 50 winner. Thornwood also led the field in the 880 relay and went 1-2 in the mile relay.
Khalil Lighthouse was the 880 runner-up and Charles Howell backed Moore in the 60 lows. Thornwood totaled 147 points, trailing Evanston (166).
Girls basketball
Class 1A final: Sophie Brunner scored 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Freeport Aquin to a 55-46 win over Mount Pulaski for its second consecutive Illinois state title.
Brunner was 12 of 15 from the field and hit 9 of 15 free throws. Her seven points late in the game helped hold off the Toppers.
Elayna Erdmier added 11 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (31-3).
The Toppers (29-5) bolted to an early 14-7 lead but Aquin used an 18-7 second-quarter run to grab a lead it never relinquished.
Jessica Awe scored 19, grabbed six rebounds and handed out three assists for Mount Pulaski, Erika Leever added 11 points and six assists for the Toppers.
Class 2A final: Nashville ran out to a 12-4 first-quarter and maintained the advantage for a 42-29 win over St. Thomas More for the championship.
Erica Brown led the Hornettes with 14 points, while Shawn Rennegarbe added 11.
