Thornwood's Kris Williams and teammate Dwayne Franklin brought home individual wrestling titles Saturday at the SouthWest Suburban Conference Tournament.
Williams (22-0), a two-time defending Class 3A state champion, beat Lincoln-Way Central's Ian Meagher 11-4 to win the 120-pound title.
Franklin won the 220 title by beating Homewood-Flossmoor's Devion May 2-1. He won on criteria.
Lockport won the team title with 249, while defending-champion Sandburg was second (240 points). Homewood-Flossmoor was ninth (95 1/2). Thornwood was 11th (90 points).
Glenbard West 52, Bloom Twp. 24: The Blazing Trojans got wins from Anthony Jackson (106 pounds), Armando Castillo (152), Dominique Taylor (160) and Johnnie Foster (195) in the dual-meet loss.
St. Patrick Sectional: Mount Carmel's Mike Stepanovic qualified for the state meet in O'Fallon with a 1,227 series at Habetler Bowl in Chicago.
The Caravan finished eighth as a team with 5,470 pins. Lyons Township won the sectional with a 6,344.
Bogan 45, T.F. North 29: The Meteors (6-10) struggled in the nonconference loss to the Bengals.
Minooka Invitational: T.F. South fnished 13th out of 16 teams with 4,465 pins. Oswego East won the team title with 5,766.
The Rebels top bowler was Amber Mantejano, who rolled a 1,027.
Shepard Invitational: Thornton Fractional's Corey Postema picked up a win in the 100 back, finishing in 57.97 seconds to help his team to a fifth-place finish (163 points).
Postema also finished fifth in the 50 free (24.15). Thomas Kotel placed third in the 100 fly (1:00.63), while the 400 free relay placed fourth (3:40.52).
