The Times Breakdown: The Rebels return six total starters from 2012, so there will be a lot of new faces on the field at the start of the season. A 5-1 record in the South Suburban Blue lifted T.F. South to a share of the conference title with Lemont and Oak Forest and the 2013 Rebels will once again hope to contend for a conference crown. T.F. South will need its seniors to fill a variety of roles on both sides of the ball. T.F. South opens up the season against defending 6A state champs Crete-Monee on Aug. 30, so the Rebels will have to be ready to play from Week 1.
Quote: "Our league will be as strong and competitive as usual, with perennial state qualifiers Lemont and Oak Forest leading the pack. We will be challenged early, with defending 6A State Champions Crete-Monee in week one and Oak Forest in our conference opener in week three. Our young team will need to mature and develop quickly to be competitive." — Tom Padjen
