Leo (7-1) at No. 1 Mount Carmel (7-1)

When: 3 p.m. today

The breakdown: The Caravan get a true home game as they host the Lions at Carey Field. On the season, Mount Carmel has outscored its opponents 63-10 in the first quarter and 174-20 in the first half. One Achilles' heel has been holding on to the football as the Caravan have lost 10 fumbles, while recovering two. Jimmy Mickens (803 yards, 8 TDs) and Matt Domer (630 yards, 8 TDs) lead a tough ground attack, while Marko Boricich is 35-of-56 passing for 502 yards, eight TDs and five interceptions. Two-way performer Christian Searles has 13 catches for 198 yards and three touchdowns, while making 17 tackles and four interceptions. Enoch Smith (37 tackles, 12 TFLS) and Sam Connolly (36 tackles, 7 TFLS) lead the defense. Leo lost to Bishop McNamara 40-7 last week. Mount Carmel beat the Fightin' Irish 42-0. The Lions are led by quarterback Latrell Giles, who has thrown for 938 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions. Thoeodore Hopkins Jr. has rushed for 427 yards and six touchdowns. -- Mike Nieto

 Oak Forest (6-2, 4-1 SSC Blue) at T.F. North (3-5, 2-3)

When: 6:45 p.m. today

The breakdown: The Meteors can end their season on a good note with a win over the playoff-bound Bengals. They must put their 14-13 loss to T.F. South behind them and treat this like a playoff game. Anthony Watkins has been superb the second half of the season, giving the Rebels fits. Lineman A.J. Price did the same on both sides of the ball. The key will be for the Meteors to finish -- something they have had trouble doing. Oak Forest quarterback Conor Rago has done a good job filling in for the injured Nick Ciufia. He ran for 119 yards last week in a 34-15 win over Tinley Park. -- Mike Nieto

Lemont (3-5, 2-3 SSC Blue) at T.F. South (4-4, 2-3)

When: 7 p.m. today

The breakdown: This is it for the Rebels -- win or stay home. They are treating this like a one-game playoff and it is. Lemont is out of the playoffs and would love to end the Rebels season, especially after South won 21-20 last year in Lemont. T.F. South has never been over .500 and this is the time to get over .500. Offensively, South has run the ball by committee and has been successful. Trenton Gilbert has rushed for 258 yards and three touchdowns, and JaVaughn Hunter has rushed for 235 and two touchdowns. Cody Petrich is 57-of-140 passing for 893 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. Defensively, Jariel Brooks and Raphael canty have 37 solos each. Torian Lewis has 30. Fred Taylor had four sacks. Lemont lost 28-15 to South suburban Blue champ Bremen. Julio Aleman and Michael Larkin lead its offense. -- Mike Nieto

Glenbard South (8-0) vs. Bloom Township (5-3)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: At Bloom Trail High School

The breakdown: Bloom needs to win to guarantee a playoff spot and a second straight appearance, but it’s a stiff test against the leader of the Metro Suburban pack. Quarterback Kendall McGinnis, nursing an injury, may play sparingly, putting the onus on the back of Justus Brantley. Bloom scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns in last week’s rally against Rich East to keep the postseason dream alive. Only once this season have the Raiders failed to score at least four touchdowns. They’ve averaged 45 points the last four games, allowing a total of 36. Bloom’s three losses this year are against 8-0 or 7-1 teams, and Glenbard South fits that profile. -- Tim Cronin

No. 2 Homewood-Flossmoor (7-1, 5-1 SWSC Blue) at Stagg (4-4, 2-4)

When: 7:15 p.m.

The breakdown: The Vikings need to win while Sandburg upsets Bolingbrook to gain a share of the SouthWest Suburban Blue title. The second half of the equation is less likely, but the first half would give H-F momentum heading into the playoffs. Isaac Cutrara’s pinpoint passing is the first thing Stagg has to stifle, followed by the rushing of sophomores Devonte and Deante Harley-Hampton. H-F is averaging over 37 points per game.  -– Tim Cronin

No. 3 Crete-Monee (7-1, 4-0 SAC) at Rich Central (8-0, 4-0)

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

The breakdown: The Warriors and Olympians are playing for the Southland Athletic Conference title. The Olympians would like to end the Warriors 24-game league winning streak and 32-game conference winning streak, going back to the SICA South. Crete quarterback Frank Douglas has quietly emerged as a leader. He is 98-of-166 passing for 1,005 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. Trevon Smith has rushed for 637 yards and three scores, and the Warriors as a team have rushed for 1,415 yards and 14 touchdowns. They do have 11 turnovers. Special teams have played well and that might be the difference tonight. Defensively, Nyles Morgan had 46 solos and 21 assists, eight TFLs and two sacks. Jonathan Draper has 40 solos, two sacks and two interceptions. The defense is tuning up for the postseason. Rich Central's Ahmad McClellan rushed for three touchdowns last week in a 28-24 win over Kankakee. -- Mike Nieto
