Last week's rankings in parentheses
1. Crete-Monee 6-0 (2)
The Warriors just went about their business and took care of upset-minded Bloom Township last week. The first-team defense has allowed but two touchdowns. The Warriors have won 19 consecutive regular-season games and have never lost a Southland Athletic Conference contest. The offensive line is moving people out of the way and is a big reason why the Warriors are gaining lots of yards.
2. Mount Carmel 5-1 (1)
Mount Carmel is coming off a tough 30-27 overtime loss to Loyola, but it will have to regroup for a Saturday morning game with St. Laurence. The Caravan will rebound from that loss and will come out strong against the Vikings. One loss shouldn't bring a good team down, but with St. Rita and Providence ahead, the road is not an easy one.
3. T.F. South 5-1 (3)
The Rebels are back to work after a big overtime road win over then-Class 6A No. 2 Lemont. They return home for homecoming and can't afford to look past Bremen. The team is back down to earth and focused on the task at hand. Many players have stepped up when needed, and that will have to continue.
