Anika Johnson hit a 3-foot bank shot at the buzzer to give the Bloom Township girls basketball team a 63-62 win over Rich East on Thursday night in Southland Athletic Conference play.
Johnson scored 27 points, and Arianna Dampier added 24.
Bloom's Danielle King was out with turf toe, according to coach Ron Newquist.
"This win as a huge confidence builder for us," Newquist said. "With Dani out and for Anika and Arianna to step up like they did was great."
The Blazing Trojans (3-6, 1-1) snapped a three-game losing streak.
Crete-Monee 66, Kankakee 28: Marsha Howard's double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds led the Times No. 3 Warriors (7-1, 2-0) to a Southland Athletic Conference win over the Kays.
Ashley Henry had 16 points and nine rebounds. Lindzy Cox handed out seven assists, and Alexia DeBose made five steals.
T.F. South 64, Richards 31: Ninah Bertrand had a game-high 26 points along with five steals in helping the No. 4 Rebels (6-1, 3-0) to a South Suburban Blue win. Ren'Cia Rolling scored 14 points and had nine assists. CeCe Keys scored six and grabbed eight rebounds.
T.F. South 2,333, Oak Forest 1,854: Andrew Johnson's 490 series with a 268 high game led the Rebels to a win over the Bengals.
Kalin James had a 483 series with a 247 high game, while Taveon Roberson had a 474 and Kurt Clancy a 460.
Mt. Carmel 9, St. Rita 0: Jordan Elder's 209 and Danny McKay's 204 led the Caravan to a Catholic League win over the Mustangs at Forest Lanes.
Richards 2,126, T.F. North 1,721: Juan Gutierrez's 435 series led the Meteors in a loss to the Bulldogs at Arena Lanes.
Gutierrez also had a 233 high game. Javon Brown rolled a 381 series and Avery Manuel a 357.
T.F. South 1,704, Shepard 1,396: Madalin Tiltges' 399 series led the Rebels past the Astros at Centennial Lanes.
Tiltges had a 231 game. Kayla Garcia had a 353 series and Natalie Pascual a 321.
Lincoln-Way West 112, Homewood-Flossmoor 87, Richards 82: Jakobi McClellan won the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.82) and the 100 breaststroke (1:06.15) as the Vikings finished second.
Teammate Haden Santefort won the 100 backstroke (59.68), and the Vikings won the 200 medley and 400 free relays.
